CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder Office will stay open until 7:30 p.m. every Thursday - starting this week - until Aug. 29 for the fifth consecutive year.

Customers can use this opportunity to get copies of birth or death certificates and other recorded documents like fictitious business names.

Marriage licenses will also be available, and wedding ceremonies will be available by appointment, but county officials say walk-ins will be accommodated if possible.

Summer is also an important time for parents to get their hands on birth certificates for school registration or travel season.

"It's nice to be able to offer our services for an extended time, especially for busy parents as they get ready for the upcoming school year," Clerk-Recorder Joe Canciamilla said in a statement.
