Local Author Raising Funds for Cancer Research
Author, songwriter is giving away her newest book for donations on Saturday.
Marie Southwick writes songs, pens books and is taking guitar lessons. On Saturday, Aug 25 she'll also be raising money for cancer research.
The 81-year-old old is offering her book, "The Reality of Aging and Other Issues" for donations of at least $10 to people who visit the Eagles Hall, 14789 San Pablo Ave. in San Pablo from 10 p.m. to 4 p.m.
She said 100 percent of the funds raised will go to the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation with her "love and gratitude." This is her second cancer research fundraising event this year.
