
The West Contra Costa Unified School District is continuing an investigation into a at Lupine Hills Elementary School, United Teachers of Richmond Executive Board President Diane Brown told Patch Tuesday.
Brown said she hasn’t been given much information about the district’s investigation. “I don’t know exactly where they’re going with this,” Brown said. “I know the teachers are still unhappy….”
Lupine Hills teachers voted through their union last month. Out of 22 of teachers at the school, 17 voted, with 15 of the teachers who participated voting “no confidence” in Principal Cynthia Taylor’s leadership style, which they said has created for them a hostile and uncommunicative work environment.

Lupine Hills parents have divided over the issue, with reports of fliers being distributed by parents on campus calling for either the resignation or support of Taylor, who has been on the job for less than a year.
The district’s spokesman did not respond to requests by Patch for an update on the district’s investigation into unrest at Lupine. “As far as I know (the district) was interviewing parents, but I haven’t heard the nature of those interviews, Brown said.
