Meetings to Discuss Hercules' Financial Future

The first of two scheduled meetings will take place Saturday.

As the City of Hercules continues to come to grips with its financial present and future, city staff and the city council have organized several meetings to review Hercules' financial status and priorities moving forward.

Two strategic plan charrettes have been scheduled to discuss the plan. The first will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the city's Senior Center. The second meeting will be held Dec. 10 at the same time and place.

"The purpose of (this) community outreach is to gather as many ideas as possible relative to identifying ways to establish fiscal stability through increasing revenues and cutting costs; how to prioritize the many needs and desires of the community; ways to be more efficient; and how to best move forward given the realities of the economy, the real estate market, and the City’s very limited revenues," reads the city's website.
