New Cafe Opens in Pinole

Restaurant on Belmont Way serves coffee drinks, pastries, sandwiches and smoothies.

Pinole has a new source for donuts, sandwiches, coffee drinks and smoothies.

Sitting on the edge of the city limit and tucked into a small strip mall, Lyn's Cafe is the city's newest restaurant. The family-operated cafe at San Pablo Avenue and Belmont Way is the second location for a mother and daughter who also operate Alhambra Donut & Deli in Martinez.

The donuts are baked in the Martinez kitchen and delivered daily to the new cafe, said Rosina Y, who runs the Pinole restaurant. A dozen donuts are priced starting at $8.50 or starting at $.50 for a half-dozen.

Ronsina also serves inexpensive hot and cold sandwiches at the Pinole locaiton, which is open seven days a week. Sandwich prices are only $3, plus tax. The cafe offers hot or iced coffee drinks, fruit smoothies and bubble drinks. Smoothies are available for $3.59 to $3.79, depending on size.

Rosina, a former Pinole resident now living in Hercules, said her mother Vandy Y, has owned the Martinez donut and deli shop for five or six years.
