One Injured in Latest East Bay Freeway Shooting

The victim was shot in the leg, according tot he CHP.

HERCULES, CA - The California Highway Patrol this morning is reporting all lanes of Interstate Highway 80 in Hercules have reopened following a Tuesday night shooting. Some two dozen shootings have occurred since last December.

A Sig-alert issued due to the latest incident has been canceled.

The shooting was reported at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday on the highway just west of state Highway 4, according to the CHP.

A victim was struck in the leg by gunfire, according to the CHP. Details on the victim's condition were not immediately available.

Two eastbound lanes of the highway were closed just west of state Highway 4, and four lanes were closed at Pinole Valley Road.

All lanes were reopened just after 1 a.m.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black Chevrolet El Camino with tinted windows, according to the CHP.
