Current Pinole City Manager Michelle Fitzer, submitted her resignation on July 2 (at the end of the Council Meeting) and gave six months notice. Michelle is retiring at the end of 2019.
We wish Michelle well and thank her for her service. She has worked diligently since becoming the City Manager of Pinole. This is a truly tough job.

Now we must recruit and hire the very best person this Council can find to replace her. Look far and wide.
Those of you who have followed the many ups, downs, twists and turns of our city, understand full well, that this position should be filled by someone who does or will reside in our city.
Someone who embraces our renewed community spirit. Someone who will take a hands-on approach and become a familiar face in and around town, because that is how a city our size should function.
Let us hire someone who willingly extends a helping hand to our small business community and provides a voice for them, not obstacles. Our small business community in Old Town Pinole continues to struggle for attention and for much needed support from the City they help define.
The time has come for City administration to reflect the ideas and values our community has voted for and to be a part of the new and changing face of Pinole.
Opportunity Knocks.
