The Original Mel's of Pinole to Host 5th Annual Turkey Dinner Donation

The Original Mel’s Diner of Pinole will be hosting its 5th annual Turkey Dinner Donation on Friday, December 18th, 2015. Owners Mike, David, and Rolla will be donating 175 turkey dinners to families in need within the local community. Each family will receive a 15 pound turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and an apple pie to take home.

To facilitate this event, the Original Mel’s of Pinole has partnered with Phillip Mehas, a local art consultant with grassroots contacts in the East Bay. Together they have identified 10 local organizations with families in need of turkey dinners this holiday season. The 10 participants this year are:

1. Richmond High School Parent Group
2. Morada de Mujeres del Milenio
3. Walter T. Helms Middle School
4. Native American Center of Richmond
5. Easter Hill United Methodist Church
6. Richmond PAL
7. Pullman Neighborhood Council
8. Casa de Esperanza, House of Hope, St. Mark’s Catholic Church
9. Community Violence Solutions
10. Hintil Kuu CA Child Care Center

Each group will receive 17 vouchers to distribute to families in need within their organization. The vouchers can be redeemed at the Richmond PAL facility on Friday, December 18th from 4:00pm – 7:00pm, and volunteers will be onsite to assist the families.
