Pedestrian Hit By Amtrak Train Near Pinole
More than 200 passengers were on the Capitol Corridor train when the collision occurred.
PINOLE, CA - A person was fatally struck by a train in the vicinity of Pinole Thursday, according to Amtrak officials.
Capitol Corridor train No. 538 struck a trespasser on the track at 4:52 p.m.
There were 202 passengers on the train at the time, but no injuries were reported to passengers or crew.

Passengers were eventually transferred to train No. 540 to continue toward their destinations.

Information about the victim was not available.
The incident led to delays, but trains were moving again by 6:45 p.m. according to Amtrak officials.
