Pinole Bank Robbery Arrest

The accused man is 59-year-old Bryan Richardson who, police say, may be responsible for similar crimes throughout the Bay Area.

PINOLE, CA — A suspect was arrested Thursday on suspicion of robbing a bank in Pinole one day before, police said.

The suspect went into the Mechanics Bank at 2690 Pinole Valley Road at about 9:20 a.m. and went up to a teller.

Police said the suspect gave the teller a note and demanded cash. The teller complied and the person apparently left the bank before bank personnel notified police.

The suspect was identified as 59-year-old Bryan Richardson of Berkeley. Richardson was allegedly wanted by other Bay Area police departments for similar offenses. He was arrested Thursday in Alameda County on an unrelated offense.

The investigation is ongoing. Pinole police are working with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies.
