Pinole Fight Leaves One Man With Life Threatening Injuries
Bowling buddies ended up in a fight at AMF Pinole Valley Lanes. One of them ended up with signs of a traumatic brain injury.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly striking another man and leaving him with a life threatening head injury last week at a bowling alley in Pinole, police said.
Phi Huynh, of San Pablo, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting the victim, an acquaintance of his, around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 at AMF Pinole Valley Lanes at 1580 Pinole Valley Road.
That day, officers responded to a call about a 27-year-old victim who was unconscious at the bowling alley and appeared to be exhibiting the signs of a traumatic brain injury, police said.

The man was taken to John Muir Medical Center with injuries considered life threatening. He is now in stable condition, police said.
Officers discovered that the victim and the suspect knew each other and were bowling together when an argument broke out, police said. Police said it ended with Huynh allegedly striking the victim, which sent him to the ground. It is thought the man’s head forcefully hit the ground during his fall.

After a warrant was put out for his arrest, police said, Huynh was taken into custody on Wednesday by San Pablo police and was booked into Martinez Detention Facility. He’s being held on $150,000 bail.
He was arrested on counts of battery with serious bodily injury and assault causing great bodily injury.
