PINOLE SCHOOL IS NAMED AS A REGIONAL WINNER IN COMCAST'S INNOVATIONS 4 ENTREPRENEURS PROGRAM

Two California based businesses, Big Minds (Pinole) and KAAJ Healthcare (San Jose), have been named regional winners in Comcast’s annual Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs (I4E) program. Both Big Minds and KAAJ Healthcare have won $10,000 each, but the contest isn’t over yet.
The next round of the competition is the public vote. Based on the public’s votes, 6 businesses will be selected as grand prize winners and will receive an additional $20,000 cash award as well as an all-expenses-paid trip to Comcast Business headquarters in Philadelphia - where they will meet with Business Innovation Experts to discuss how to put their technology plan into action! Grand Prize Winners will get to meet with four business leaders: Sam Schwartz, Chief Business Development Officer at Comcast Cable; Louis Toth, Managing Director for Comcast Ventures; Robert Irvine restaurateur, TV star and entrepreneur; and Patrick Fitzgerald, MB & Undergrad Entrepreneurship Lecturer at the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania and DreamIt Ventures Managing Director. The public voting period is open from April 27 – May 10.

Big Minds has entered the contest to help support the school’s mission to give 2e children the freedom to develop their interests, build their intellect, find friends, and be supported in a nurturing, safe environment whilst KAAJ Healthcare has entered the contest to help support the organization’s mission to bring a modern Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to its patients.

“Entrepreneurs and startups can accelerate their growth by leveraging technology to make their business more efficient and scalable,” said Denice Hasty, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, Comcast Business. “The Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs program celebrates these 32 businesses that are using technology in smart, strategic ways and we are pleased to underwrite the investments they need to help them continue to execute on their plans.”
The six grand prize winners will be announced the week of June 1, 2015, with the grand prize winner event in Philadelphia August 12-13, 2015.
