UPDATE: Lockdown at Pinole Valley High School Lifted
School officials say students have been released to go home for the day.

Update:
The search for a burglary suspect near Pinole Valley High School prompted a lockdown at the school on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Pinole Valley High School Principal Kibby Kleiman says the lockdown was lifted at 3:02 p.m.

“Students all released to go home,” Kleiman said. “Only one student left without permission. Nicely done everyone.”
The lockdown was not related to any activity originating from within the high school located at 2900 Pinole Valley Road, according to police. Police said calls about the lockdown started coming into the department around 2 p.m.

Pinole Valley High School was placed on lockdown at 1:55 this afternoon, the school’s office confirms.
The lockdown was initiated by the Pinole Police Department.
