Pinole Valley High Student Athlete Named Bay Area All-Star

The senior was awarded a $5,000 scholarship.

PINOLE, CA — A Pinole Valley High student was honored last week for her work on the athletic field and in the classroom, school officials said. Senior Christine Chinwuba was stunned when she learned she was among seven others to be named a Bay Area All-Star.

Principal Kibby Kleiman said Chinwuba deserves the recognition by maintaining a 4.3 grade point average, making her one of the top two percent in her graduating class, and being a dominant player on the volleyball team. Chinwuba is also involved in Leadership and the Health Academy on campus.

“We salute Christine,” Principal Kibby Kleiman said via email. “Her hard work and spirit has been a blessing to the school over the past four years, now the rest of the region will discover what we already knew.”
