Pinole Valley High Student Headed to Speech State Championships

PINOLE, CA: Pinole Valley High senior Lisa Romero has punched her ticket to the state championship in speech with a run to finals this past Saturday at James Logan High School.

Romero, an alternative to state last year, would not be denied this year. Her speech, "How I'm Preparing to get Alzheimer's" is in the category of Oral Interpretation, and the speech is adapted from a TED talk of the same name.

Lisa qualifies for the prestigious tournament being held April 15-17 at Mission College in Santa Clara. She has been on the Spartan squad since her freshmen year and we are thrilled that all her talent and hard work has paid off!
