Pinole Woman Sentenced To Federal Prison
Sherryl Santos-Tan admitted embezzling $300,000 for use at casinos and other personal expenses.
PINOLE, CA — A Pinole woman, Sherryl Santos-Tan was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay $300,000 in restitution for a wire fraud scheme that stole from her former employer and another individual.
US Attorney David L. Anderson and US Secret Service Special Agent in Charge Thomas C. Edwards announced the sentence, handed down by Judge Edward Chen.
Santos-Tan, 36, pleaded guilty to the charges last October.

She admitted that she diverted money to accounts under her control and made purchases for her personal use including at casinos.
Following her prison term, Santos-Tanwill be placed on three years of supervised release.

The prosecution is the result of an investigation by the Secret Service.
