Playground Open - New Signs Up At Parks In Hercules

Playgrounds are open: Last week the State of California officially opened playgrounds. As of Friday, 10/2/20, the Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Public Works Department officially posted the new requirements for use of the playgrounds via the State. The message from the State is clear, they want everyone to “Play It Safe”. So, in order to Stay Safe, Play Safe.

When using playgrounds, please follow these simple steps to help keep our outdoor playgrounds safe, open and fun…

  • Playgrounds are not sanitized daily: any use of playgrounds during the COVID-19 pandemic is subject to your own judgement and risk
  • Wear a Mask: everyone 2 years and older
  • Maintain Distance: 6 feet between individuals from different households and preventing crowding of children
  • Caregivers are responsible: for assuring that social distancing and masking rules are followed
  • No Food or Drink: in playground to ensure face masks are worn at all times
  • Wash Hands: wash or sanitize hands before and after visit
  • Plan Ahead: visit park at different times of the day to avoid crowds or waits
  • Know when to stay home: elderly and those with underlying conditions should avoid playgrounds when others are present
  • Share our space: limit your visit to 30 minutes when others are waiting to avoid crowding
