Police Chase Called Off Sunday After Vehicle Tops 100 MPH
The car was described as a silver four-door passenger vehicle.

A vehicle evaded officers in a pursuit while fleeing at speeds topping 100 mph early Sunday morning in Hercules, according to police. The pursuit began when a Hercules police officer saw the suspect vehicle approach the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and John Muir Parkway at 2:42 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
The vehicle was traveling at an estimated 75 mph, and attempted to make a right-hand turn onto the freeway, police said. Then, as the vehicle entered a 60-foot skid, the officer tried to initiate a traffic stop. Instead of yielding, police said the vehicle accelerated into a freeway at speeds that exceeded 100 mph.
The pursuit was terminated shortly after the vehicle exited at Appian Way and flew through an intersection’s red light, police said. The vehicle was last seen traveling into El Sobrante.
