Saint Mary’s is a Lasallian Catholic college-preparatory high school, founded on Mission Road in San Francisco in 1863. The school moved to 30th and Broadway in Oakland in 1889, and has been located at its North Berkeley campus since 1927. The campus once housed the Peralta Park Hotel (1888-1959), and the local area was the rancho of Jose Domingo Peralta. From 1903 until 1969, the campus was also home to St. Joseph’s Academy Grammar School which later became Saint Mary’s Grammar School. The grammar and high schools shared the campus until the grammar school moved to Napa in 1969.
The school became coed in 1995, and today has a diverse student body of 600 who come from many cities around the East Bay and beyond. Learn more on the school web site, and come join us for Open House.
