"Sign , Sign everywhere a sign." Who are the Vandals?

There are Vandals on the streets of Pinole, free speech vandals who think they can decide what campaign signs should be seen by others.

Note the wire "H" frame folded in half and spearing the center of the sign.

Yesterday I read a post on Nextdoor, where a resident named Tom expressed his frustration with someone knocking over lawn signs and leaving them lying on the ground. Maybe they know that taking those signs is actually considered petty theft under the law. But there are laws about vandalism they might want to check into. Is it really that important to some people to deny others their Constitutional right of free speech. This is The United States of America isn't it? We're supposed to respect each others right of free expression, aren't we? In a society with such diverse cultures and opinions we have to respect each other, or should we allow our values to decline into a state lacking integrity and credibility?

Well, I was driving past the new high school this morning and noticed vandalized signs and others strategically placed to block out the messages displayed on others which also tramples on respect for free speech. I decided to take the pictures displayed below to show all what I found during my drive home from the high school. Please keep in mind that the businesses in these shopping centers are not necessarily involved in the vandalism, blocking of signs or prohibiting the display of "some" signs. however the property owner of the center where Red Onion Hamburgers is and the Fernandez Park View Plaza has trold me in person that he's only allowing some signs which are acceptable to the husband of current City Council candidate Norma Martinez-Rubin.

I f anyone else out there has pictures on this subject let me know, I'll post them. Most of this anti free speech vandalism seems to be directed at candidates Salimi and Tave and No on Measure C.

The bus stop by the faria house.

Only signs approved by Jeff Rubin, per the property owner at this center, Pinole Depot Plaza. Please note that the operators of these businesses are tenants to the property owner and it is the property owner's decision as to the posting of political signs at the property regardless of the proprietors, political views.

Same sign, different view. Notice the mangled wire "H" frame.

2801 Pinole Valley Road. "H" frame minus it's Salimi and Tave sign.

2801 Pinole Valley Road. When I stopped to take this photo, a very polite and elderly lady was picking this sign off the ground and trying to reset the sign but the soil there was too hard so she moved it off the sidewalk.

Park View Plaza.

The side of the Pear Street Bistro on Fernandez Avenue. You can barely see the Salimi and Tave sign shoved into the shrub so it's almost not visible.
