Today on Patch: New Boards and a New Look

Hello.  

I’m Tom Abate, Local Editor for Pinole-Hercules Patch.

Let me introduce you to our new look and easy-to-use features.

First of all, we've tried to make the site look livelier and more reflective of Pinole and Hercules.
 
That isn't all. Our news has a spiffy look. It's easier to leave comment. And it's easier to share other thoughts, pictures and videos on anything at all.

For instance, right below the news on the homepage you’ll see blogs, a showcase for community voices. It's much easier to start a blog yourself -- any time, about anything. (Hint, hint!)

Speaking of reader voices, check out the new Patch Boards. The Boards are a totally open place to post announcements about anything you want -- lost pets, school plays, wedding announcements, or that strange thing you saw.

There’s an Opinion Board -- because everyone has one, so why not put them all in one place?

Use the Buy/Sell/Trade Board to advertise garage sale or get rid of the stuff that’s overgrown your house.

There’s also a Board for Business Updates -- a dedicated spot for business owners to post news about sales, specials, openings and closings.

Patch is all about our community -- living well, and making things better for ourselves and our families. We hope this new look and the new tools help.
