Two Shot in Nearby Richmond Park

One of the men died, while the other is expected to survive. (Breaking)

RICHMOND, CA — One man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting Monday night at La Moine Park in Richmond, according to police.

Officers respond to calls about shots being fired at about 10:50 p.m. and arrived at the park at 3501 Morningside Drive, just east of Valley View Elementary School, to find the two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Richmond police.

One of the men, 21-year-old Eric Brown of Richmond, died at the scene. The other man, a 19-year-old Rodeo resident, was shot "in his lower extremities" but is expected to survive, police said.

Officers have not arrested any suspects but say the shooting appears to be an isolated incident. The motive is not yet known by police.
