WestCAT is ready to Stuff-A-Bus with food & toys
WestCAT's Annual Stuff-A-Bus Toy & Food Drive Kicks Off
Pinole, Ca. —The Western Contra Costa Transit Authority (WestCAT), the California Highway Patrol, and MV Transportation will once again join together for our two annual Stuff-A-Bus holiday donation drives to be held in the Cities of Pinole and Hercules. “This is the 15th year that we’ve held this event, which is a staff favorite, and each year it grows in both popularity and support” said Yvonne Morrow, WestCAT Marketing Manager. Last year we added Santa’s workshop, and families were invited to have their photos taken with Santa and his helpers. Both children and adults joined in on the festivities and the excitement was contagious. In the end, we were able to collect 1,395 lbs. of non-perishable food and approximately $2.5K in toy and cash donations (all cash donations are used to purchase both toys and food).
Each year the toys that we are able to collect go to benefit the California Highway Patrol’s “Chips for Kids” toy drive, and the non-perishable food donations benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano. Toys must be new and unwrapped. Food must be non-perishable; a list of acceptable items is available at www.foodbankccs.org. Monetary donations are also accepted.
Donations will be accepted on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 9:00am-4:00pm at the Safeway grocery store parking lot located at 1421 Tara Hills Dr., Pinole and on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 9:00am-4:00pm in the Lucky Supermarket parking lot located at 1590 Sycamore Ave, Hercules. Come help us to Stuff-A-Bus! Stop by with your donations and give Santa Claus your holiday wish list at the big decorated WestCAT bus.
