What new owners have planned (sanluisobispo.com) — Puffer's of Pismo, the longtime wine and music bar on Price Street, will close for a month starting Oct. 1 as new local owners add a full bar and larger music stage. Regulars can expect the laid-back community vibe and live performances to stay, with founder Charlie Puffer remaining as host and consultant while the Espositos aim to reopen by early November.

Pismo Beach renames city park — again — after questions it violated state law (sanluisobispo.com) — Pismo Beach residents should know that South Palisades Park has now been correctly renamed Mary Ann Reiss Park after the City Council redid its vote to address Brown Act concerns. A resident's complaint prompted the special meeting, where council members reaffirmed the honor while emphasizing transparency and proper public notice for future decisions.
