2-Year-Old East Bay Boy Killed After Being Ejected in Car Crash
The driver struck a concrete wall and a light pole, ejecting and killing the boy. The driver was also injured in crash.

A 30-year-old woman was involved in a crash today in Pittsburg that killed her 2-year-old boy, police said.
The crash occurred just before noon at Power Avenue near Case Drive and may have followed another minor collision that the driver was involved in, Pittsburg police Capt. Ron Raman said.
The driver, a Pittsburg resident, struck a concrete wall and a light pole, Raman said. The woman’s child was ejected from the vehicle and killed.

Raman said the boy was in a car seat, but the force from the impact was primarily focused on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Witnesses said the driver was fleeing from another collision that occurred shortly beforehand when she lost control of her vehicle, according to Raman.

Police are investigating the actions of the driver, who did not have a license, Raman said. She’s currently in the hospital and Raman did not specify her condition.
Power Avenue between Jorgenson and Case drives will be closed for several hours and the area should be avoided, Raman said shortly before 2 p.m.
