2.6-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes in Clayton, Antioch Areas This Morning
Officials report it hit at 8:40 a.m.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.6 struck near Clayton this morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor reported at 8:40 a.m. was 4 miles east-southeast of Clayton and 7 miles south-southwest of Antioch, USGS officials said.
The quake had a depth of 7.3 miles, according to the USGS.
