• Ygnacio Valley Library to close for major improvements (contracostaherald.com) — If you usually visit the Ygnacio Valley Library, plan ahead: it will close from September 9, 2026, until about May 31, 2027, for major HVAC, roofing, and electrical upgrades. During the shutdown, Pleasant Hill Library and other nearby branches will handle borrowing, returns, and transferred holds so you can still access books and materials.
