Police have released additional details on a collision that injured a motorcycle officer Tuesday in Antioch.

ANTIOCH - Police have released additional details on a collision that injured a motorcycle officer Tuesday in Antioch.

The Antioch police officer was working traffic enforcement on West Tregallas Road near Bautista Street at 12:50 p.m. when the collision occurred, according to police.

As the officer prepared to make a turn on his motorcycle to stop a traffic violator, he was rear-ended by another vehicle, according to police.

The officer was transported to Sutter Delta Medical Center for treatment of injuries considered minor. 

He is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

The motorist who struck him remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been a factor in the collision, police said.
