Assemblywoman Bonilla To Host Bay Area Regional STEM Education Summit,
It is the kickoff for the 4th Annual Bay Area Science Festival at Chabot Space & Science.

Assemblywoman Susan A. Bonilla (D-Concord) will be hosting the Bay Area Regional STEM Education Summit on Thursday, October 23rd at the Chabot Space & Science Center from 9:30am – 12:30pm to launch the 4th Annual Bay Area Science Festival.
Education, industry, and government leaders will convene to strategize policies, partnerships, and investments to strengthen STEM education throughout the Bay Area.
Executives from Hewlett-Packard, Wareham Development, Bayer, and other leading companies will participate in an industry panel to explore state policies that can advance STEM education, the creation of effective public-private partnerships, and how recent educational reforms have changed industry’s approach to supporting public education.

The summit will include an insightful discussion with education leaders, as well as presentations on the Broadband Infrastructure Improvement Grant and the Career Pathways Trust, two state funded grant programs that will advance STEM education and 21st Century Learning.
The Bay Area Regional STEM Summit will conclude with an exposition to spotlight high performing STEM programs from throughout the region. You won’t want to miss this event. We’ll see you there!

The Bay Area Science Festival
Created by the Bay Area’s scientific, cultural, and educational institutions, the 4th annual Bay Area Science Festival returns with a 10 day festival, scheduled October 23rd – November 1st 2014. The Science & Health Education Partnership (SEP) at the UC – San Francisco (UCSF) is pleased to produce the festival alongside a core group of science institutions. The festival will provide a wide range of science & technology activities – lectures, debates, exhibitions, concerts, plays, workshops, etc. –at a variety of locations throughout the Bay Area.
