BART Stopped From Lafayette To Concord Thursday Evening
Tracks blocked by downed power lines.

BART suspended service in both directions this evening between Lafayette and Concord on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line after a tree limb fell on power lines, knocking them into the tracks, according to a BART spokeswoman. PG&E is on scene removing the power line, and the Contra Costa Fire Protection District has responded to put out a small grass fire that started next to the tracks, according to BART spokeswoman Denise Gonzalez.
Power has been shut off between Lafayette and Concord stations, and will be restored once the tracks are cleared and safe, Gonzalez said. BART has asked other transit agencies to supply buses to carry passengers stuck at the affected stations.
The problem is causing major delays on the Pittburg/Bay Point Line.
