CHP Pursuit Leads From Oakland To Pleasant Hill
A suspect is in custody this morning after he allegedly led California Highway Patrol officers on a pursuit from Oakland to Pleasant Hill.

PLEASANT HILL - A suspect is in custody this morning after he allegedly led California Highway Patrol officers on a pursuit from Oakland to Pleasant Hill Thursday night.
Around 8:50 p.m. Oakland CHP officers attempted to stop a Mercedes SUV for tailgating on eastbound state Highway 24 near Broadway, according to the CHP.
The Mercedes failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit through the Caldecott Tunnel and onto the Pleasant Hill Road, according to the CHP.

While driving in the area of Taylor Boulevard and Apollo Way in Pleasant Hill, the Mercedes rammed a CHP patrol car and continued to flee, according to the CHP.
The suspect stopped the car on Skander Lane and attempted to flee on foot, but officers deployed a K-9 unit, and the dog bit the fleeing suspect.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect, whose name was not immediately available, will be arrested on suspicion of felony evading police and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the CHP.
