College Park Falcons: What Do You Think About Online Summer School?

MDUSD is piloting an online program that will help students who are falling behind in credits catch up. Does it work?

In 2010, Mount Diablo Unified School District's governing board voted to get rid of summer school. The moved saved the equivalent of eight full-time high school teachers, but it made it harder for MDUSD high schoolers to graduate. This spring, the district is testing an online course that will help students who have fallen behind pick up the credits they need to graduate. We here at Patch are curious to learn how it's working.
