Collision In Pleasant Hill Injures Elderly Driver, Pedestrian
The accident occurred this morning on Contra Costa Boulevard.

An elderly driver and a pedestrian were both injured in a collision in Pleasant Hill this morning, a police sergeant said.
The elderly woman was driving on Contra Costa Boulevard near Taylor Boulevard around 11 a.m. when she lost control of her car and drove onto the sidewalk, hitting a young man holding a bicycle, Pleasant Hill police Sgt. Dave Downs said.
Downs said the woman suffered “significant injuries” and the pedestrian suffered some lower body injuries in the collision.

Both were rushed to hospitals for treatment.
Police are investigating what led up to the collision, including the possibility that the driver suffered a medical emergency before losing control of her vehicle.
