Contra Costa: 3 Lanes on Hwy 680 Close After Crash

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA - The three right lanes of Interstate Highway 680 in Danville were closed the morning of Dec. 19 after a large moving van overturned on its side.

California Highway Patrol officers said the white moving van and a light-colored station wagon or SUV collided, causing the van to turn over.

A large amount of wood and other items, possibly clothing or debris, was reported nearby, in the right lane south of the West El Pintado off-ramp.

CHP officers issued a Sig-alert at 3:40 a.m. when they closed all but the left lane. The second lane was reopened just before 4 a.m.
