Contra Costa Co. Company To Pay $50K In Settlement Over Fraudulent Billing Allegations
Breaking: The California State Water Resources Control Board accused Aqua Science Engineers of over-billing.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- State water officials announced Friday that they have reached a settlement agreement with a Contra Costa County company over allegations of fraudulent billing related to underground storage tank clean up work.
The State Water Resources Control Board had accused Aqua Science Engineers, which also has an office in Orange County, of over-billing for equipment, labor costs and visits to project sites.
The company denies the allegations but agreed to a settlement that requires them to pay $50,000 and cease all work on projects funded by the Water Board, according to state officials.

The company's alleged abuses occurred during work it was doing for the state's Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund, which helps pay for the cleanup of underground petroleum storage tanks, such as those used by gas stations.
