This summer, Downtown Pleasant Hill, and our sponsors will be producing (4) concerts being held on the first Thursday, June – September from 6:30 pm – 8:30pm. Bring a lawn chair, a blanket or just your own two feet to dance the night away! Enjoy a fun night under the stars, in Downtown Pleasant Hill. Our first concert kicks-off on Thursday, June 2nd with Tom Petty Tribute Band, The Big Jangle. July 7th we will feature Queen &amp; Thieves, August 4th will be David Martin's House Party and to wrap it up on September 1st we will have The Fundamentals performing! This will be a concert series that you do not want to miss! Mark your calendars now!

Lesher Center for the Arts

The Diablo Symphony concludes its 63rd season with a performance of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 on Sunday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m., at the Lesher Center for the Arts. The difficulties under which Shostakovich (by then under condemnation by Stalin’s regime) composed in 1937 permeate the deep and complex emotions of this extraordinary work. The program also features works by two American composers—Aaron Copland and Daniel Pesca—that celebrate the joys and bravery of everyday existence. Composed in 1942, in response to the U.S. entry into World War II, Copland’s "Fanfare for the Common Man” pays tribute to the heroism of the common person on the home front. And, in this west coast premiere of Pesca’s “Up North” piano concerto—performed by the composer—listeners will be transported by musically depicted moments of cheer, nostalgia, charm, and the warmth of family remembered from childhood trips taken from Alabama up to Northern Michigan each summer. With these three works, performed side-by-side under the direction of conductor Matilda Hofman, the program explores the entire gamut of human emotions. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Lesher Center box office (925-943-7469, Wednesday–Sunday, 12:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.) or through the DSO’s website, diablosymphony.org. Adult tickets are $45, and youth tickets are $15. A discount for senior groups of 10 or more is available, and children 12 and under are free but need a ticket to have a seat. Tickets will also be available at the door.

St Paul's Episcopal Church

St. Paul's Concert Series is delighted to present Dr. Natalie Chan Ning, in a spectacular pipe organ performance on Sunday, May 17 at 3pm. Dr. Ning holds the Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from the University of Southern California, where she pursued advanced studies in organ performance and choral music. Performing on St. Paul’s celebrated Schlicker two-manual pipe organ, Dr. Ning will present a dynamic program ranging from classical masterworks to modern compositions—music of lyrical simplicity and grand, multi-layered textures that transforms the very space into sound. Join us at 1924 Trinity Avenue, Walnut Creek. No tickets necessary. Optional donations accepted.

Bay Area KidFest is again at the world-famous Toyota Pavilion at Concord on May 24 &amp; 25 of Memorial Day Weekend.
Enjoy the 35th edition of KidFest, a Memorial Day Weekend tradition for the entire family, with 2 days of jam-packed entertainment, rides, activities, food and fun at the Pavilion.
For a limited time, there is a Special Discount Package of 1 All-Day Ride Wristband and 2 admission tickets. Remember, babies under 24 months and Seniors 65 and older are FREE.
There are 3 free shows daily
with Wild About Monkeys, BMX Pros Stunt Team and Python Ron's Reptile Kingdom, plus free non-stop entertainment on the Main Stage. All day, children can experience another popular annual KidFest interactive attraction Kid's Town America.
Meet and Greet Super Mario and his friends Princess Peach, Yoshi and Luigi plus Olaf from Frozen in the KidFest Marketplace Pavilion.
Unfortunately, Bluey cannot be at KidFest, but she promises to come to Concord next year!
There are dozens of free kids’ activities including balloon hats and animals, spin art, slides, crawls and much more included in the low admission price.
KidFest offers an all-day, all-rides wristband to be used on 20 thrilling children's rides for kids of all ages, including Waterballerz, Dragon Wagon roller coaster, Euro Bungy Jump, Ferris wheel, giant slide, petting zoo, pony rides, Fun Express train, jeeps, Spider Mountain and more. All-day, All-rides Wristbands are $40 and are sold in the KidFest grounds. There are also 3 different discounted Ride Ticket packages (20, 50 and 100 tickets) on sale all day at KidFest.
There are 2 eclectic Food Courts, arts and crafts and exhibitor booths in the KidFest Marketplace.
On Sunday there is a special Family Dance Party
from 5-7pm during extended KidFest hours. DJ Dave and FUNKMODE will perform and lead the audience of all ages with music from Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Pitbull, Rolling Stones, Journey and more. A special $25 Family Ticket (for up to 4 admissions) goes on sale at 5pm Sunday.
For the 15th year, KidFest presents a special Memorial Day ceremony at noon Monday, May 25, Mt. Diablo High School Jr. ROTC color guard and songs honoring America's service people past and present with vocalist Elizabeth Martine.
Advance sale admission tickets are available now online.
Admission tickets, ride wristbands and ride tickets go on sale each day of KidFest starting at 9:45am. Admission is just $9 with a donation of canned food to the Monument Crisis Center or $10 without can donation.
On Sunday, May 24, we celebrate our collaboration for food donations through Monument Crisis Center with DOUBLE CAN DAY. A person donating 2 canned goods on Sunday gets $2 off their admission. A family of 4 bringing 8 cans will save a total of $8 off their admission ticket purchase.
Babies under 24 months and seniors 65+ are always free.
Proceeds from Bay Area KidFest benefit local educational, health and sports groups, which have received over $125,000 in cash donations from producer Bay Area Festivals since 2010.
The first 500 families through the Pavilion gate each morning at KidFest receive a free KidFest Goody Bag.
Tickets for admission and rides are always available at the door during KidFest. On-site vehicle parking is $10.

The Walnut Creek Historical Society will be hosting our sixth annual car show. This is an outdoor event held on the Shadelands Ranch Museum grounds. There will be fabulous cars, live music, great food, awards and a raffle. The museum will be open for tours!
The Car Show will be canceled in the event of rain.
Admission is free!
