Drive a Honda? CHP Offering Free Anti-Theft Devices
The CHP and several law enforcement agencies in Contra Costa County received a grant to purchase the CLUB to prevent auto thefts.

The California Highway Patrol, the Pittsburg Police Department, the Antioch Police Department, and the Brentwood Police Department will be providing free anti-theft devices to vehicle owners who own the most commonly stolen type of vehicles, law enforcement officials said.
The agencies purchased approximately 450 CLUB anti-theft devices through the Vehicle Theft Suppression Enforcement Team, a collaboration of resources from several law enforcement agencies in Contra Costa County.
The purpose of the initiative is to reduce car thefts. The National Insurance Crime Bureau, a nonprofit organization, provided the funding for the purchases.

The CLUBS will be distributed by the four agencies to local residents who own vehicles that are on the county’s top stolen vehicle list. These vehicles include Honda Accords and Honda Civics manufactured prior to 2000, which make up the top 17 categories, officials said.
Anyone interested in receiving a CLUB free of charge can contact the agencies for more information.
