Large Amount of Stolen Mail Recovered in East Bay
BREAKING: The search of a Pittsburg residence recovered mail from throughout Contra Costa County.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- Police in Pittsburg have arrested three individuals suspected of various offenses, including mail theft.
At about 4:20 p.m. on Jan. 5, Walnut Creek police officers were in Pittsburg surveilling a residence in the 200 block of West Buchanan Road in an attempt to arrest a woman on suspicion of identity theft and burglary.
The woman, identified as Amanda Bruntz, left the residence in a vehicle, was pulled over and then arrested. At the time of her arrest, Bruntz was in possession of items related to identity theft, police said.

Two passengers inside Bruntz's vehicle at the time of her arrest were identified as Joshua Tanasescu and Michael Woodmansee.
Tanasescu was in possession of a controlled substance and was arrested on suspicion of auto theft.

Woodmansee was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and burglary tools, according to authorities.
Police also said that evidence suggested Bruntz and Woodmansee were involved in mail theft, and the United States Postal Inspection Service was called in to assist the investigation.
A search of the Pittsburg residence recovered large amounts of mail from throughout the county.
Investigators also found items related to identity theft.
