East Bay Teen Found Shot to Death at Hillcrest Park ID'd

The teen appeared to have suffered from at least one gunshot wound

Police have identified a teenager found shot to death early Tuesday morning at a Concord park as 16-year-old Luis Estrada of Martinez.

At 12:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a deceased man at Hillcrest Park, located at Olivera Road and Grant Street, according to police.

A person walking through the park called police after finding the unresponsive male victim lying on the ground, police said.

The caller stayed at the scene until officers arrived to find the victim in the park’s southeast corner, according to police.

Estrada appeared to have suffered from at least one gunshot wound, police said.

Detectives are currently looking for a potential motive for the homicide, including the possibility the incident may be gang-related, according to police.
