Yoga for Anxiety Workshop

During this three hour workshop the course participants will learn about currently emerging theories on using yoga for anxiety, as well as scientific research into stress response disorders. The course will alternate between lecture, group discussion, and physical practice, which will include traditional yoga poses, breathing techniques, meditation, and restorative poses to help people suffering from anxiety disorders. Work will be appropriate for beginners and long-term yoga practitioners alike. This class is meant to be used as an additional tool, in combination with appropriate medical and behavioral care, to help people develop practical self-calming techniques. (Please bring a notebook and pen as well as yoga items, although loaner mats and props are available if needed.)
