Fatal Pleasant Hill Crash: Victim Was 83-Year-Old Resident

Breaking: The fatal collision involving two vehicles occurred on Taylor Boulevard.

PLEASANT HILL, CA -- A man who died in a two-car collision Saturday morning in Pleasant Hill was identified Monday by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as 83-year-old Donald Brown. At 10:14 a.m. Saturday, the California Highway Patrol got a call about a collision on southbound Taylor Boulevard just north of Withers Avenue where a Toyota minivan collided with a Lexus sedan.

The driver of the minivan was traveling on southbound Taylor Boulevard when she veered left out of her lane and struck the Lexus, according to a preliminary CHP investigation.

The Lexus overturned and Brown, who's from Pleasant Hill, was partially ejected from the right front passenger seat of the car, CHP officials said. He died at the scene.

The driver of the Lexus and another passenger were injured and taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with injuries that weren't life-threatening.

CHP officials said the driver of the minivan escaped injury. She was the only person in the vehicle.

Neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the collision.
