Gas Leak Reported Monday Near Diablo Valley College

Crews capped the leak in Pleasant Hill.

Crews capped a gas leak prompted by a construction crew dig-in near Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill this morning, a utility spokeswoman said.

A worker operating an excavator appears to have struck and ruptured a 1.25-inch natural gas line on Golf Club Road at Old Quarry Road around 8:30 a.m., according to PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian.

Crews were able to stop the flow of gas around 10:30 a.m. and remained on scene as of 11:30 a.m. to repair the ruptured line, she said.
