Irish Canyon Family Night Hike Friday, July 31st, 2015; 7:30 - 10:00 p.m.

Experience what comes alive in the Diablo wilderness when the sun sets and take in vistas by the light of the moon! Join Save Mount Diablo’s Land Conservation Manager, George Phillips, for a rare night hike through the spectacular 320-acre Irish Canyon property.

The property supports more than 400 species of plants and animals and has a rich history including two homestead sites.

The hike is roughly 6 miles round trip with 900ft elevation gain/loss. Wear sturdy running shoes or hiking boots. Dress in layers, bring plenty of water and snacks.

Directions: From I-680 North or downtown Walnut Creek head east on Ygnacio Valley Rd., continue on Ygnacio Valley Rd. for about 7 miles. Make a right onto Clayton Rd. and continue on Clayton Rd. for 2 miles. Turn left onto Peacock Creek Drive and the park-n-ride is on the right.
