K-9 Officer Muzzy Passes Away In Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL, CA – Retired K-9 Officer Muzzy, a Belgian Malinois nearing his 13th birthday, passed away Wednesday after a brief illness, the Pleasant Hill Police Department said.

Born in 2005, Muzzy joined the Pleasant Hill force in 2008 and was a dedicated officer that assisted in apprehending suspects, finding drugs and contraband, helping to locate missing persons and representing the department at such community events as National Night Out, police said.

Muzzy retired in December 2014, living out his final years in the home of his long-time, human partner, Sgt. Priebe.

"Please join us in bidding a fond farewell to this dedicated retiree and wishing our heartfelt condolences to Sgt. Priebe and his family," the department said.
