Lafayette Man Gets 9 Years for Molestation of 2 Pleasant Hill Girls

A Contra Costa County judge today sentenced a Lafayette man to 9 years in prison for molesting two girls in Pleasant Hill.

Antonio Maxfield, 29, was sentenced in a Martinez courtroom Friday several months after a jury convicted him of multiple counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child with enhancements for victimizing multiple people and for substantial sexual conduct, according to Deputy District Attorney Christine Hazlehurst.

In addition to the prison sentence, Maxfield was ordered to pay $200,000 in restitution to the two victims and to register as a sex offender upon his release.

Prosecutors said the victims were 12 years old and 15 years old, respectively, when Maxfield molested them.

The defendant was staying with the family of one of the girls in Pleasant Hill when the molestation occurred, according to Hazlehurst.

Maxfield, who was trained in massage therapy but was apparently never employed as a massage therapist, offered to massage both victims, according to Hazlehurst.

In one incident, he touched a victim’s genitals while in another incident he digitally penetrated the victim, the prosecutor said.

Evidence during the trial included testimony from both victims as well as text messages Maxfield sent to one of the girls.
