Multi-Car, Injury Accident Blocking Northbound I-680 Near Concord

A multi-car crash has caused multiple reported injuries and is blocking several lanes on northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Concord this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash involving a truck carrying a trailer and up to four more vehicles was reported around 2:20 p.m. on northbound Highway 680 near Concord Avenue, according to the CHP.

Ambulances were called to the scene and there were reports of multiple injuries, according to the CHP and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials.

The collision is blocking three lanes along the roadway and the CHP has issued a Sig-alert.

There was no estimate for when the lanes would reopen.
