Officers Detain Man Threatening To Harm Self In Pleasant Hill: PD

The incident at the downtown Pleasant Hill parking garage started at about 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to police.

PLEASANT HILL, CA — The downtown Pleasant Hill parking garage was closed Monday evening in order for officers to help a man who was threatening to take his own life. The Pleasant Hill Police Department received a call at about 5:30 p.m. Monday about a suspicious person with a knife in the parking structure on Crescent Drive, police said in an advisory.

Officers responded and located the man, who was making threats about harming himself with a knife, police said.

"Thankfully the subject was detained without incident and with no injuries," Pleasant Hill police said. "We will be assisting in providing the involved subject with needed professional assistance."

The parking structure was reopened as of 7:52 p.m.
