Pleasant Hill House Fire Possibly Sparked By Faulty Fan
BREAKING: The fire broke out early Sunday morning in a two-story home.

PLEASANT HILL, CA — A faulty fan may be behind an accidental fire Saturday morning that damaged mainly the kitchen of a Pleasant Hill home, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District captain said. The fire was reported at 3:45 a.m. in a two-story home in the 100 block of St. Julie Court. The family was having renovations done following recurring flooding in the home, Capt. Lisa Martinez said.
According to Martinez, a crew in charge of the renovations was drying floors with fans and a fan may have failed. Because the fire was determined to be accidental, fire officials will leave it up to insurance investigators to determine whether the fan was the cause, Martinez said.
No one was injured in the fire. The family was not living in the home when the fire occurred.
