Reminder: Meals On Wheels Pancake Breakfast Is Sunday!

News from Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services in Contra Costa County:

Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services is hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, September 13th to raise money for fall prevention services in Contra Costa County.

The Pancake Breakfast will be held at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center from 8:30 am - 10:30 am. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. The event will include tasty pancakes and will feature a Pancake Flipping Contest for the kids, and great raffle prizes including a chance to win a $250 gift card to Macy’s for the adults!

Contra Costa County Supervisor Karen Mitchoff will kick off the event and Pleasant Hill Councilmember, Tim Flaherty, will be the Master of Ceremonies.

“The Pancake Breakfast is the biggest fundraiser for MOWSOS’ Fall Prevention Program,” says Alayne Balke, Program Manager. “We hope to have a large crowd again this year. There will be a resource fair with hearing, balance, and blood pressure testing. It’s also Grandparents Day so bring your grandchildren and celebrate with us.”

The mission of MOWSOS’ Fall Prevention Program is to reduce preventable injuries, loss of independence, reduce costs and deaths associated with falls among older adults. The funds raised from this event will enable MOWSOS’ Fall Prevention Program to install more grab bars, build additional ramps, and prevent falls for qualified, low-income adults.

Pancake breakfast tickets are $5 for adults; $3 for children ages 4 - 10; and children under 4 are free. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.
