Shooting Leaves 1 Dead In Downtown Walnut Creek
The victim died this morning from multiple gunshot wounds at John Muir. [Breaking]

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA – One person died early this morning after he was allegedly gunned down in downtown Walnut Creek, according to police.
The shooting was first reported at 1:28 a.m. near Locust and Cypress streets, police said.
Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to John Muir Medical Center, where he later died, according to police.

No other injuries were reported, police said.
Witnesses told police a male suspect was last seen running from the scene.

Police believe the incident is an isolated one and detectives are actively investigating the case.
The name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of his family.
